Turkmenistan–Georgia Relations in Focus as Mejlis Chairperson Meets Georgian Leadership in Tbilisi

Tbilisi, The Gulf Observer: As part of her official visit to Georgia, Chairperson of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan Dunyagozel Gulmanova was received by President of Georgia Mikheil Kavelashvili in Tbilisi.

At the outset of the meeting, Gulmanova conveyed warm greetings and best wishes to the Georgian leader on behalf of President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov and the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.

During the discussions, the sides reviewed key areas of bilateral cooperation across political, economic, and humanitarian spheres. Particular emphasis was placed on coordination within the United Nations and other international organizations, where both countries regularly support each other’s constructive initiatives.

The participants underscored that official visits and active inter-parliamentary dialogue serve as important mechanisms for strengthening the strategic partnership between Turkmenistan and Georgia.

On the same day, Gulmanova also held talks with Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Kobakhidze. At the beginning of the meeting, she conveyed greetings from Turkmenistan’s top leadership to the head of the Georgian government.

The negotiations included a detailed review of the current state and future prospects of Turkmen-Georgian cooperation, with special focus on expanding trade and economic relations as well as enhancing cultural and humanitarian exchanges.

Both sides noted that the steady development of inter-parliamentary relations forms a reliable foundation for strengthening interstate ties and maintaining an open and trusting political dialogue.

Concluding the series of high-level meetings, the parties reaffirmed their firm commitment to further expanding the multifaceted partnership based on mutual respect and confirmed their readiness to implement new joint initiatives aimed at benefiting the peoples of both friendly nations.
