Turkmenistan Highlights Regional Connectivity Role at Islamabad Transport Ministers’ Conference

Islamabad, The Gulf Observer: A delegation from Turkmenistan, led by Mr. Kakajan Yagmyrov, Head of the Department of International Relations and Logistics at the Ministry of Automobile Transport of Turkmenistan, participated in the Regional Transport Ministers’ Conference (RTMC 2025) held in Islamabad on October 23–24, 2025. The event was organized by the Ministry of Communications of Pakistan and brought together representatives from regional countries to discuss sustainable transport cooperation and connectivity.

In its address at the conference, the Turkmen delegation highlighted the country’s transit, transport, and logistics potential, emphasizing Turkmenistan’s strategic role as a key transit hub in Central Asia. The delegation noted that Turkmenistan continues to modernize its transport infrastructure—including railways, highways, seaports, and logistics centers—to facilitate smooth and efficient regional trade flows.

The delegation underscored that Turkmenistan has successfully carried out large-scale modernization of its national transport and logistics system, incorporating digital technologies and implementing international initiatives aimed at sustainable transport development and the integration of regional transit corridors.

Reaffirming the importance of close cooperation with Pakistan, Mr. Yagmyrov expressed Turkmenistan’s readiness to expand bilateral and multilateral partnerships to enhance regional connectivity and strengthen trade and economic ties across the broader region.

The conference reaffirmed the shared commitment of regional countries, including Turkmenistan, to the comprehensive development of transport and logistics linkages as vital instruments for fostering mutual connectivity, boosting trade efficiency, and promoting regional economic integration.
