Turkmenistan Lays Foundation for Mosque in Fuzuli During OTS Summit in Gabala

Turkmenistan

Gabala, The Gulf Observer: President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, and other heads of state and government participating in the 12th Summit of the Council of Heads of State of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) attended, via an online format, a foundation stone laying ceremony for a mosque to be constructed by Turkmenistan in the city of Fuzuli.

The mosque complex, to be built on an area exceeding one hectare, will feature two minarets standing 40 meters high and a main dome rising to 30 meters. Designed to accommodate up to 500 worshippers simultaneously, the mosque will serve as a significant symbol of friendship and brotherhood among Turkic nations.

Member and observer states of the OTS are actively contributing to the restoration and reconstruction efforts in the Karabakh and East Zangezur regions, initiated by the Azerbaijani government. Among these contributions are the construction of the Fuzuli mosque by Turkmenistan, the Mirzo Ulugbek School built by Uzbekistan in Fuzuli, the Kurmangazy Children’s Creativity Center constructed by Kazakhstan in Fuzuli, the Manas School built by Kyrgyzstan in Aghdam, and the school currently under construction by Hungary in Jabrayil.

Additionally, Turkish companies are playing a key role in the development of vital infrastructure projects across the liberated territories, including the construction of tunnels, bridges, and roads — further underscoring the spirit of solidarity and cooperation among the Turkic states.
