Kazan, The Gulf Observer: The Kazan International Electric Power Forum “Energoprom-2026” is being held from April 1 to 3, 2026, in Kazan, bringing together global energy leaders and policymakers to discuss advancements in the power sector and opportunities for international cooperation.

The high-level event, hosted in the Republic of Tatarstan of the Russia, is attended by government officials, energy ministers from CIS countries, representatives of key ministries, and executives from leading energy companies and equipment manufacturers. The Turkmen delegation is led by Minister of Energy Annageldi Saparov.

Held at the Kazan EXPO International Exhibition Center, the forum features a specialized exhibition showcasing modern technological solutions from over 100 companies, including advanced gas turbines and cutting-edge electrical equipment.

Discussions at the forum are focused on the development of joint energy projects, exchange of expertise and technologies, and the formation of an integrated energy space aimed at enhancing industry sustainability and strengthening economic ties among participating countries.

Turkmenistan’s participation highlights its commitment to modernizing and diversifying its national economy through the adoption of advanced technologies and scientific innovations. The country continues to prioritize the development of modern energy infrastructure, including gas turbine power plants, high-voltage transmission lines, and substations equipped with world-class technologies.

On the sidelines of the forum, a meeting of the CIS Electric Power Council was held, addressing key issues such as coordination of energy systems, development of the fuel and energy complex, digitalization, and improving the reliability of energy infrastructure.

Separately, on April 2, Minister Annageldi Saparov held talks with Sergei Tsivilev, Minister of Energy of Russia. The discussions focused on prospects for enhancing Turkmen-Russian energy cooperation, including the implementation of joint projects in energy infrastructure modernization, improving system reliability, and introducing advanced technologies, particularly in renewable energy.

The forum underscores the growing importance of regional collaboration in addressing global energy challenges and advancing sustainable development in the power sector.
