Turkmenistan, UAE Strengthen Bilateral Ties in Oil and Energy Sectors
Abu Dhabi, The Gulf Observer: On the sidelines of the World Government Summit, Rashid Meredov, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, engaged in productive discussions with Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber, Minister of Industry and Advanced Technologies of the United Arab Emirates and Director General of the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC).
The talks, reported by the Foreign Ministry of Turkmenistan on Tuesday, underscored the vital role of fostering relations between Turkmenistan and the UAE in the oil industry. Both parties highlighted the potential for collaboration, focusing on the integration of advanced UAE technologies into Turkmenistan’s oil sector.
Aligned with agreements established at the leadership level of both nations, the discussions delved into specific steps for implementation, outlining a series of activities for the immediate future. Mohammed Jamil Al Ramahi, Chief Executive Officer of Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company (MASDAR), also participated in the meeting, adding valuable insights to the dialogue.
In a separate meeting on the same day, Minister Meredov met with Saeed Al Tayer, Managing and Executive Director of the Dubai Electricity & Water Authority (DEWA). The discussions encompassed critical aspects of bilateral cooperation in water, economic, and electricity sectors, exploring prospects for further development. The meeting identified collaboration in renewable energy sources as a promising avenue for Turkmen-Emirati interaction.
The Turkmen delegation, led by Deputy Chairman Rashid Meredov, played an active role in the World Government Summit (WGS 2024) meetings on February 12, 2024. These engagements signify the commitment of Turkmenistan and the UAE to strengthen their ties in key sectors, fostering mutual development and growth.
