Turkmenistan’s Foreign Minister Meets Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif
Islamabad, The Gulf Observer: On the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) meeting, Turkmenistan’s Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Rashid Meredov, met with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif in Islamabad.
During the meeting, Prime Minister Sharif welcomed Turkmenistan’s participation as a special guest at the SCO gathering, highlighting the significance of the long-standing historical and fraternal relations between Pakistan and Turkmenistan. He expressed the desire to enhance high-level exchanges between the two nations, underscoring the need for collaborative efforts to maximize bilateral cooperation.
“Strengthening our partnership is essential, particularly in the areas of trade, energy, and regional connectivity,” stated Prime Minister Sharif, emphasizing the potential for mutual growth through closer ties.
In response, Rashid Meredov congratulated Pakistan on the successful hosting of the SCO Heads of Government Meeting and conveyed warm wishes to Prime Minister Sharif on behalf of Turkmenistan’s leadership. He reaffirmed Turkmenistan’s commitment to fortifying and deepening relations with Pakistan, stating, “We are resolute in our efforts to make Pakistan-Turkmenistan relations stronger and closer.”
The discussions reflected a shared vision for enhancing cooperation and fostering a robust partnership between the two countries.
