Turkmenistan’s President Emphasizes Development of Carpet Weaving Industry
Ashgabat, The Gulf Observer: During a recent meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers in Turkmenistan, Deputy Prime Minister Batyr Atdayev delivered a report focusing on enhancing the operations of structural divisions and carpet enterprises within the Turkmenhaly State Association, as well as efforts to promote the art of handmade carpet weaving, as reported by TDH.
Deputy Prime Minister Atdayev highlighted ongoing initiatives aimed at modernizing the production infrastructure to preserve original antique carpet samples. He noted the establishment of new artistic carpet weaving enterprises equipped with conducive environments for productive work and comfortable rest for craftswomen.
Additionally, the report outlined plans to diversify carpet products while maintaining their national essence, meeting both domestic and international market demands, and enhancing the industry’s material and technical foundations in line with modern standards.
Summarizing the report, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov underscored the government’s special emphasis on developing Turkmenistan’s renowned folk art of carpet weaving and advancing its global recognition. The President emphasized the importance of modernizing Turkmenhaly enterprises and issued corresponding directives to Deputy Prime Minister Atdayev to further these efforts.
