Two Pilots Killed in Training Aircraft Crash in Central Türkiye

Ankara, The Gulf Observer: Two pilots lost their lives after a training aircraft crashed in central Türkiye, the country’s National Defence Ministry announced on Tuesday. The incident involved an SF-260D type aircraft belonging to the Air Forces Command, which had departed from the 12th Air Transport Main Base Command in Kayseri for a routine training mission.

According to the ministry’s statement on social media platform X, the aircraft crashed for reasons yet to be determined. In response to the crash, search and rescue operations were immediately initiated.

The crash site was identified as the Hasan Arpa neighbourhood in the Kocasinan district of Kayseri. Promptly after the crash was reported, search and rescue teams, along with firefighting units, were dispatched to the location.

Investigations into the cause of the crash are ongoing, as the nation mourns the loss of the two pilots. The National Defence Ministry has extended its condolences to the families of the deceased and assured that a thorough investigation will be conducted to ascertain the circumstances leading to this tragic accident.
