UAE, Alberta Explore New Economy Partnerships at Investopia Global Forum in Calgary

Calgary, The Gulf Observer: Abdulla bin Touq Al Marri, UAE Minister of Economy and Tourism, met with Danielle Smith, Premier of Alberta, to discuss strengthening economic and investment cooperation, with a particular focus on new economy sectors such as clean energy, food security, tourism, digital technologies, space, and advanced manufacturing.

The meeting took place during the “Investopia Global – Alberta” forum in Calgary, which convened government leaders, investors, and business representatives to explore opportunities for collaboration and sustainable growth. Discussions centered on boosting bilateral investment flows, fostering innovation, and creating new channels of cooperation between the UAE and Canadian business communities.

Minister Bin Touq reaffirmed the UAE’s commitment to expanding its global economic partnerships, commending the progress made in UAE–Canada relations. He noted Alberta’s position as a hub for clean energy and advanced technologies, highlighting the province’s potential to complement the UAE’s diversification and sustainability goals.

He further emphasized that the Investopia platform plays a key role in identifying high-value investment opportunities and launching innovative projects that support diversified and sustainable economic growth.

Premier Smith welcomed the UAE’s growing interest in Alberta, outlining the province’s strengths in energy, food security, advanced technology, and emissions reduction solutions. She expressed optimism about the prospects for greater collaboration and long-term partnerships with UAE stakeholders.
