UAE and Kyrgyzstan Sign MoU to Facilitate Mutual Driving License Recognition

Abu Dhabi, The Gulf Observer: Lieutenant General H.H. Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior of the United Arab Emirates, met with Ulan Karypbekov, Director of the State Agency for Vehicle and Driver Registration under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic, to strengthen bilateral cooperation in transportation and licensing.
The meeting was held on the sidelines of the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the UAE and Kyrgyzstan aimed at mutual recognition and replacement of driving licenses. Under the terms of the agreement, driving licenses issued by either country can be exchanged without the need for theoretical or practical driving tests, simplifying procedures for citizens residing in or visiting the respective countries.
The MoU was signed on behalf of the UAE by Major General Khalifa Hareb Al Khaili, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior, and on behalf of the Kyrgyz Republic by Ulan Karypbekov.
This agreement reflects the deepening of friendly relations between the UAE and Kyrgyzstan and is expected to facilitate ease of movement and enhance cooperation in road safety and driver management systems between the two nations.
