UAE

Cairo, The Gulf Observer: The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has emerged as the leading destination for Egyptian engineering exports in 2025, reflecting the sector’s continued expansion and resilience, according to the Engineering Export Council of Egypt under the Ministry of Trade and Industry.

Data released by the Council show that Egyptian engineering exports grew by 12 percent between January and August 2025, reaching US$4.187 billion, compared to US$3.746 billion during the same period last year.

May Helmy, Executive Director of the Council, stated that targeted markets experienced notable growth, with strong increases recorded in Europe, Asia, Africa, and the Americas, alongside robust performance in Arab markets — particularly the UAE, which has taken the lead.

Sherif El Sayad, Chairman of the Council, emphasized that the results highlight the sector’s strengthened competitiveness in global markets despite international economic challenges. He noted that the current figures represent the highest in the sector’s history for an eight-month period, reinforcing expectations that engineering exports could reach US$6 billion by the end of 2025.
