Finland’s President Expresses Support for Azerbaijan in Call with President Ilham Aliyev

Baku, The Gulf Observer: President of the Republic of Finland Alexander Stubb on March 10 held a telephone conversation with President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, during which the two leaders discussed regional developments and bilateral cooperation.

During the call, President Stubb expressed Finland’s support for Azerbaijan following Iran’s attack on the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, reaffirming his country’s solidarity with Azerbaijan.

President Aliyev thanked the Finnish leader for the phone call and for the support extended to Azerbaijan.

Both leaders also fondly recalled their previous meetings and the discussions held on strengthening Azerbaijan–Finland bilateral relations.

During the conversation, the presidents exchanged views on the prospects for expanding cooperation between the two countries as well as on other issues of mutual interest.
