UAE Celebrates 54th Eid Al Etihad Amid Landmark National and International Achievements in 2025

Abu Dhabi, The Gulf Observer: The United Arab Emirates, under its visionary leadership, is celebrating the 54th Eid Al Etihad, marking a year of continued progress and notable achievements. The Year of Community, 2025, has witnessed a series of national and international milestones that underscore the UAE’s commitment to prosperity, innovation, and humanitarian leadership.

Throughout the year, the UAE strengthened its global presence, solidifying its position as a leading economic power regionally and internationally, while maintaining a proactive role in humanitarian initiatives.

The country made significant strides in space exploration, launching six satellites: Thuraya 4, MBZ-SAT, AlainSat-1, HCT-SAT 1, the second phase of the Foresight satellite constellation, and Etihad-SAT. Additionally, the UAE Space Agency announced the completion of the final design phase of the Emirates Mission to the Asteroid Belt (EMA).

In collaboration with ICEYE, Space 42 successfully launched three new Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) satellites—Foresight-3, Foresight-4, and Foresight-5—into low Earth orbit, further expanding the Foresight constellation. The Mohammed bin Rashid Space Centre also announced in November the completion of the development of the Rashid 2 rover as part of the Emirates Lunar Mission.

2025 also highlighted the UAE’s ongoing efforts to empower Emirati women. The country ranked first regionally and 13th globally in the 2025 Gender Inequality Index released by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). Furthermore, three Emirati women were selected for membership in the World Economic Forum’s Young Global Leaders Council of 2025.

The UAE launched the Mother of the Nation’s 50:50 Vision, focusing on pillars such as family and national identity, governance and strategies, and international development partnerships.

Housing initiatives remained a national priority. The Sheikh Zayed Housing Programme approved 2,971 housing projects from January to September 2025, valued at AED2,069,200,000, and introduced a financing initiative prioritizing senior citizens.

In Abu Dhabi, authorities announced agreements to develop 13 new residential communities, providing over 40,000 homes and residential plots for Emirati citizens, with a total investment of AED106 billion. Dubai implemented housing projects worth AED5.4 billion and approved a housing package exceeding AED2 billion, comprising more than 1,100 residential units. In Sharjah, the Executive Council approved 3,500 land grants for eligible beneficiaries, including 1,750 residential plots and 1,750 investment plots.

The 54th Eid Al Etihad celebrations reflect the UAE’s dedication to innovation, social development, and international engagement, reaffirming its vision of a prosperous and sustainable future.
