UAE Concludes Participation in IMF-WBG 2024 Spring Meetings

Washington, The Gulf Observer: The United Arab Emirates – UAE successfully concluded its participation in the 2024 Spring Meetings of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank Group (WBG), held in Washington D.C. The meetings, which featured main ministerial gatherings from April 17th to 19th, with additional sideline events spanning April 15th to 20th, served as a pivotal platform for global economic dialogue and collaboration.

Leading the UAE delegation at these significant meetings was Mohamed bin Hadi Al Hussaini, UAE Minister of State for Financial Affairs. The delegation included distinguished members such as Ebrahim Al Zaabi, Assistant Governor for Monetary Policy and Financial Stability at the Central Bank of the UAE; Ahmed Al Qamzi, Assistant Governor for Banking and Insurance Supervision at the Central Bank of the UAE; and other esteemed officials and specialists from the UAE Ministry of Finance and the Central Bank.

Minister Al Hussaini underscored the importance of the discussions held during the 2024 Spring Meetings, emphasizing their role in facilitating dialogue among stakeholders and advancing global collaboration for sustainable development solutions.

During the meetings, Minister Al Hussaini engaged in fruitful bilateral discussions with finance ministers from Pakistan, Ethiopia, Poland, the United Kingdom, and the United States of America. The talks centered on expanding joint cooperation and international collaboration to address pressing global challenges.

Ebrahim Al Zaabi reiterated the significance of the IMF-WBG Spring 2024 meetings in fostering dialogue and exchanging perspectives on global economic developments and growth prospects among member nations. The gatherings aimed to strengthen international cooperation, enhance global financial stability, and accelerate efforts towards sustainable development.
