UAE Condemns Israeli Minister’s Statements on Sovereignty Over West Bank
Abu Dhabi, The Gulf Observer: The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has issued a strong condemnation of recent statements by Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich, who announced plans to prepare for extending Israeli sovereignty over the Occupied West Bank in the coming year.
In an official statement, the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) expressed its firm rejection of all provocative actions and measures aimed at changing the legal status of the Occupied Palestinian Territory. The Ministry warned that such practices violate international resolutions, risk escalating regional instability, and hinder efforts toward peace and stability.
The UAE emphasized the importance of supporting regional and international initiatives to advance the peace process in the Middle East and halt illegal actions that threaten the viability of a two-state solution and the establishment of an independent Palestinian state. The statement reaffirmed the UAE’s unwavering commitment to promoting peace, justice, and the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people.
The Ministry further called on the international community to intensify efforts toward an immediate ceasefire, to prevent further loss of life, de-escalate tensions in the Occupied Palestinian Territory, and support a comprehensive and just peace for the region.
