UAE Cybersecurity Chief Highlights Effective Management of Global Technical Disruption
Abu Dhabi, The Gulf Observer: Dr. Mohammed Hamad Al Kuwaiti, Head of the UAE Cybersecurity Council, has lauded the country’s effective management of the recent global technical disruption, emphasizing that the UAE has emerged stronger than ever, with all sectors and infrastructures seamlessly recovering and functioning optimally.
Dr. Al Kuwaiti attributed this success to the Council’s partnership with CrowdStrike, which has implemented robust and sustainable systems to address global digital challenges while ensuring business continuity. He highlighted that this collaboration is part of a broader effort to build a sustainable cybersecurity future, with CrowdStrike playing a crucial role in the swift recovery of the UAE’s digital systems from the worldwide technical outage.
He noted that the partnership with CrowdStrike is based on three core pillars of cybersecurity. The first pillar, “People,” includes initiatives such as Cyber Pulse, which have fostered a culture of cybersecurity awareness. “Working with CrowdStrike, we have ensured that everyone in society collaborates to share best practices, addresses issues, and stays vigilant against social engineering and phishing attacks,” Dr. Al Kuwaiti stated.
The second pillar, “Technology,” leverages CrowdStrike technologies and the CSC NSoC to detect and respond to outages using AI in conjunction with various service providers and hyperscalers. “Their unwavering support and automated analysis have enabled rapid fixes and continuous monitoring across all sectors,” Dr. Al Kuwaiti noted.
The third pillar, “Processes,” involves CrowdStrike’s swift information flow through established robust SOPs and ConOps, ensuring clear governance across both public and private sectors. This has facilitated the dissemination of accurate information and prevented the spread of misinformation and disinformation.
Dr. Al Kuwaiti underscored that the UAE’s resilience and effective response to the global technical disruption underscore the strength of its cybersecurity framework and the vital role of partnerships in achieving digital security and sustainability.
