UAE Delivers New Medical Aid Shipment to Gaza in Coordination with WHO

WHO

Gaza, The Gulf Observer: As part of its ongoing humanitarian response and in coordination with the World Health Organization (WHO), the United Arab Emirates has delivered a new shipment of essential medicines and medical supplies to Gaza, aimed at supporting the territory’s collapsing healthcare system amid the ongoing blockade.

The delivery, made earlier today, comprised 11 trucks transporting approximately 65 tonnes of critical medical items. The shipment includes life-saving medications and urgent supplies intended to meet the immediate needs of hospitals and healthcare facilities across the Gaza Strip.

The World Health Organization commended the UAE for its steadfast support of Gaza’s healthcare sector, describing the country as one of the most prominent international contributors to medical relief efforts in the region. WHO representatives stressed the importance of scaling up global support to alleviate the worsening humanitarian crisis in Gaza.

According to WHO, the Emirati aid will play a vital role in addressing the acute shortage of medicines, bolstering the operational capacity of hospitals and healthcare centres, and responding to the growing medical emergencies affecting the population.

This latest initiative forms part of the UAE’s broader multi-sectoral support under Operation Chivalrous Knight 3, which encompasses assistance in healthcare, food security, shelter, and education. The UAE’s comprehensive relief efforts reaffirm its unwavering commitment to the Palestinian people and its dedication to humanitarian principles amid one of the region’s most pressing crises.
