UAE Dispatches 90 Tonnes of Aid to Egypt for Gaza Relief Efforts

Abu Dhabi, The Gulf Observer: On Thursday, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) dispatched a new plane carrying 90 tonnes of relief and food aid to Al Arish city, Egypt, to be transported to the Gaza Strip. This effort is part of the UAE’s ongoing commitment to alleviate the escalating humanitarian suffering of civilians in Gaza.

This latest aid shipment, under “Operation Chivalrous Knight 3,” includes 450 tents, food parcels, and dates. With this delivery, the number of UAE aid flights to Al Arish has reached 238 since the operation began.

Launched on November 5, 2023, Operation Chivalrous Knight 3 is led by the Joint Operations Command of the Ministry of Defence, in cooperation with the Emirates Red Crescent (ERC), the Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan Charitable and Humanitarian Foundation, and the Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation. The operation aims to provide urgent relief aid to support the Palestinian people in Gaza.

To date, the UAE has transported 33,000 tonnes of food, medical aid, and shelter equipment via 395 cargo planes, including 103 planes involved in airdrops as part of the “Birds of Goodness” operation. Additionally, UAE aid to Gaza has included six cargo ships carrying aid from the UAE and Cyprus to Al Arish and Northern Gaza, as well as 1,243 aid trucks delivering various forms of assistance.

The UAE’s humanitarian approach to supporting the Palestinian people underscores its longstanding commitment to providing relief aid, a stance it has upheld for several decades.
