UAE Highlights Cooling Initiatives at Global Climate Meeting in Bonn

Bonn, The Gulf Observer: The United Arab Emirates (UAE) actively participated in the first Global Cooling Pledge Signatories Focal Points Meeting, held in Bonn, Germany, reaffirming its commitment to advancing sustainable cooling solutions as a critical component of global climate action.

During the meeting, the UAE delegation highlighted the nation’s efforts in integrating cooling strategies within its national energy efficiency plans. Officials also presented the latest progress related to the Global Cooling Commitment, an initiative the UAE co-chairs alongside Brazil in preparation for the upcoming 30th United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP30).

Launched during COP28 under the UAE Presidency, in collaboration with the United Nations Environment Programme’s (UNEP) Cool Coalition, the Global Cooling Commitment aims to transform international pledges into actionable, on-the-ground climate solutions.

In less than 18 months since its launch, the initiative has gained significant traction, with 72 countries and over 80 partner organizations joining the commitment. This rapid expansion underscores the global recognition of cooling as a vital frontline defense against climate change.

The UAE’s participation in the Bonn meeting further reinforces its leadership role in promoting innovative, energy-efficient, and climate-resilient cooling solutions, in alignment with its broader sustainability goals and international climate cooperation agenda.
