Abu Dhabi, The Gulf Observer: UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and His Majesty King Abdullah II bin Al Hussein of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan convened today to explore avenues for strengthening the longstanding relations between their respective nations, with a shared commitment to advancing the prosperity and development aspirations of their peoples. The discussions encompassed a broad spectrum of regional and international issues of mutual concern.

His Highness Sheikh Mohamed extended a warm welcome to King Abdullah II at Qasr Al Shati in Abu Dhabi, extending sincere greetings on the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan and expressing hopes for blessings, peace, and stability for both nations and the wider global community.

The meeting between His Highness and King Abdullah II delved into various dimensions of collaboration between the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Jordan, with particular emphasis on areas of development, economics, and politics. The leaders exchanged views on the latest regional and global developments, underscoring the imperative of concerted efforts to address the humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip by facilitating the safe and unhindered delivery of essential aid via land, sea, and air routes. They reiterated the necessity for resolute international engagement to safeguard regional stability and advance a comprehensive, just, and enduring peace based on the principles of the two-state solution.

Both His Highness Sheikh Mohamed and King Abdullah II reaffirmed their unwavering commitment to maintaining close coordination on matters of mutual interest, aimed at serving the collective interests of their nations and promoting security and stability in the broader region.

In honor of King Abdullah II’s visit, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed hosted an iftar dinner, symbolizing the spirit of fraternity and cooperation between the UAE and Jordan.

The dinner and bilateral discussions were attended by prominent dignitaries, including His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister, and Chairman of the Presidential Court; H.H. Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi; H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs; H.H. Sheikh Theyab bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Court for Development and Fallen Heroes’ Affairs, among others. The Jordanian delegation accompanying His Majesty the King included His Excellency Dr. Bisher Al-Khasawneh, Prime Minister of Jordan; His Excellency Dr. Jafar Hassan, Director of His Majesty King Abdullah’s Office; and His Excellency Nassar Ibrahim Al Habashneh, Ambassador of Jordan to the UAE.

Following the conclusion of his fraternal visit, His Majesty King Abdullah II bid farewell to the UAE, with His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan personally seeing him off at Al Bateen Executive Airport in Abu Dhabi.
