UAE Participates in 3rd Sherpas Meeting of G20 in Rio de Janeiro

Rio de Janeiro, The Gulf Observer: The United Arab Emirates (UAE) participated in the 3rd Sherpas meeting of the Group of 20 (G20), held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The UAE delegation was led by Saleh Al Suwaidi, UAE Ambassador to Brazil and G20 Sous-Sherpa.
The meeting focused on several critical issues, including developments within the G20 Finance Track, progress in establishing a global alliance to combat hunger and poverty, and efforts to address climate change. Discussions also centered on the role of the G20 in mitigating geopolitical tensions affecting the international community. Ambassador Al Suwaidi emphasized the UAE’s commitment to collaboration and international partnerships to achieve lasting peace.
The UAE’s participation in the G20 underscores the country’s steadfast dedication to multilateral cooperation and addressing international priorities across various sectors. The UAE remains committed to supporting the global agenda and forging partnerships that benefit the international community and future generations.

The UAE’s participation in the meeting followed an invitation from the Brazilian Presidency of the G20, marking the UAE’s third consecutive year of involvement. The UAE has made significant and effective contributions to the G20’s priorities as a guest country in France (2011), Saudi Arabia (2020), Indonesia (2022), and India (2023).
