UAE Pavilion Concludes Successful Six-Month Run at Expo 2025 Osaka

Osaka, The Gulf Observer: The UAE Pavilion has concluded its six-month participation in Expo 2025 Osaka, attracting over five million visitors through physical and virtual platforms since its opening on April 13, 2025, making it one of the most visited international pavilions at the event.
The pavilion welcomed 4,930,645 in-person visitors, 113,443 online participants, and more than 17,000 virtual attendees via the Expo platform, highlighting strong engagement from audiences in Japan and around the world.
The closing ceremony brought together the Pavilion team, youth ambassadors from the UAE and Japan, and the four official partners: ADNOC, Pure Health, Space42, and the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi. The event featured speeches by youth ambassadors and Pavilion officials, along with a presentation reflecting on the Pavilion’s journey, values, and overarching message.
Shihab Ahmed Al Faheem, UAE Ambassador to Japan and Commissioner-General of the UAE Pavilion at Expo 2025 Osaka, said the pavilion served as “not just an exhibition space, but a vibrant platform that connected cultures and ideas, fostering a cross-border human dialogue.” He praised the contributions of the youth ambassadors, team members, and partners in creating a unique and inspiring visitor experience.
Under the theme “Earth to Ether,” the Pavilion showcased a distinctive architectural design inspired by the date palm and offered interactive exhibits on space exploration, healthcare innovation, and sustainable technologies, highlighting how the UAE’s heritage shapes its path to progress.
The UAE Pavilion also received a Bronze Award from the Bureau International des Expositions (BIE) for Architectural and Landscape Design in the Type A self-built pavilion category (larger than 1,500m²), ranking it among the top three large pavilions at Expo 2025 Osaka.
Throughout the Expo, the Pavilion hosted forums, cultural performances, and youth initiatives, welcoming high-level delegations and thousands of visitors. The UAE National Day on September 19, attended by H.H. Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, was a notable highlight.
The closure of the Pavilion marks another milestone in the UAE’s enduring Expo legacy, from its debut at Expo 1970 Osaka to hosting Expo 2020 Dubai, and its return to Osaka in 2025, reinforcing its role as a platform for cultural exchange, innovation, and international collaboration.
