UAE President, Ethiopian Prime Minister Discuss Regional Escalation in Phone Call

Abu Dhabi, The Gulf Observer: UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan received a telephone call on Wednesday from Ethiopian Prime Minister Dr. Abiy Ahmed, during which the two leaders discussed recent regional developments amid ongoing military escalation and its implications for regional and global security.
During the call, Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed strongly condemned the continued Iranian attacks targeting the United Arab Emirates and other countries in the region, describing them as clear violations of sovereignty and international law.
He also reaffirmed Ethiopia’s full solidarity with the UAE in all measures it is undertaking to safeguard its security, territorial integrity, and the safety of its people.
Both leaders emphasized the urgent need to de-escalate tensions and called for the adoption of serious dialogue and diplomatic efforts to resolve outstanding issues. They stressed that such steps are essential to prevent further crises and to preserve regional security and stability.
In a separate context, President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed conveyed his sincere condolences and heartfelt sympathy to Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed and the Ethiopian people over the victims of recent floods and landslides caused by heavy rainfall.
The UAE President also reaffirmed his country’s solidarity with Ethiopia during these challenging circumstances, underscoring the importance of cooperation and mutual support in times of crisis.
