UAE, Qatar Leaders Discuss Regional Security and Strengthen Bilateral Ties Amid Escalation

Abu Dhabi, The Gulf Observer UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan received Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Emir of the State of Qatar, on Tuesday during a fraternal visit that underscored the deep-rooted ties between the two nations and their shared commitment to regional stability.

During the meeting, the leaders reviewed the latest developments in the region amid ongoing military escalation, with particular focus on the implications for regional and international security, maritime safety, and the global economy. They expressed concern over the serious repercussions of instability and emphasized the importance of coordinated efforts to maintain peace and security.

The discussions also addressed continued attacks attributed to Iran targeting the UAE, Qatar, and other countries in the region, including strikes on civilian populations and infrastructure. Both leaders reaffirmed their commitment to safeguarding national sovereignty, territorial integrity, and the safety of their citizens, while enhancing defensive and preventive measures.

Their Highnesses further explored avenues to strengthen bilateral relations and expand cooperation across multiple sectors in line with their shared development priorities and mutual interests, highlighting the importance of unity and collaboration in addressing regional challenges.

The meeting was attended by senior UAE officials, including Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the Presidential Court; Sheikh Tahnoon bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Ruler of Abu Dhabi and National Security Adviser; and Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Court for Special Affairs, along with other officials.

The Qatari delegation accompanying the Emir included Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al Thani, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, and Abdullah bin Mohammed Al Khulaifi, Chief of the Amiri Diwan, among other senior officials.

Earlier in the day, Sheikh Tamim arrived in the UAE and was personally received at the airport by President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed, accompanied by a number of Sheikhs and senior officials, reflecting the strong fraternal relations between the two countries.
