UAE Rescue Team Intensifies Firefighting Operations in Albania

Tirana, The Gulf Observer: The UAE Rescue Team is continuing its advanced operations to extinguish widespread wildfires across several areas of the Republic of Albania, demonstrating high field efficiency and professionalism. To date, the team has carried out 19 specialised sorties using two Black Hawk helicopters.
These operations included 406 precise water drops on fire hotspots, deploying more than 700,000 kilogrammes of water, significantly contributing to containing the fires and preventing their spread.
The exceptional efforts come despite major field challenges, including extreme heat and the rugged geographical terrain of the affected areas. The operations are being conducted in close cooperation and ongoing coordination with the competent Albanian authorities.
The mission commenced last Monday in the Gramsh forest area and its surroundings, following the directives of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan to support the Republic of Albania in combating the devastating wildfires.
Coordination meetings between the UAE team and Albanian officials are ongoing to devise operational strategies that accelerate the pace of firefighting efforts. Continuous field monitoring is also being undertaken in extinguished areas to ensure fires do not reignite.
