UAE Showcases Space Ambitions at Expo 2025 Osaka with ‘Explorers of Space’ Platform

Abu Dhabi, The Gulf Observer: The UAE Pavilion at Expo 2025 Osaka-Kansai has unveiled its standout attraction, the Explorers of Space platform, offering visitors an immersive journey through the country’s evolving space exploration narrative—from historical achievements to bold future missions.
Central to the experience are the UAE’s landmark space endeavors, including the Emirates Mars Mission (Hope Probe), the Rashid Rover lunar project, and upcoming asteroid exploration initiatives. The platform underscores the nation’s long-term commitment to space science and its dedication to inspiring future generations of astronauts and innovators.
As the official partner of the Explorers of Space zone, Space42 plays a pivotal role in curating the content and integrating cutting-edge technologies into the exhibit. The company’s support for the UAE Pavilion, themed From Earth to Ether, mirrors its broader mission to expand the boundaries of possibility and deliver tangible value from space-based innovation to terrestrial applications.
Sulaiman Al Ali, Chief Commercial Officer at Space42, emphasized the alignment between the company’s initiatives and the UAE’s national vision of transitioning from a rich cultural legacy to a future defined by science, technology, and discovery. He highlighted Space42’s unique position as the UAE’s first space technology company to fully integrate artificial intelligence across its operational ecosystem—driving meaningful solutions through satellite communications, geospatial analytics, and AI.
“Expo 2025 Osaka provides a global launchpad for Space42 to amplify its international footprint and foster new collaborations,” Al Ali said. He further noted the importance of the UAE-Japan space partnership, which has already delivered successful missions and continues to catalyze innovation.
Space42 currently operates in over 150 countries with a satellite portfolio that supports smart connectivity and Earth observation solutions, including disaster response and crisis management. Its key initiatives include next-generation mobility services via the Thuraya-4 satellite, the expansion of the Foresight constellation for Earth monitoring, and the upcoming Yah 4 and Yah 5 satellites, supporting UAE government projects. The company is also on track to complete its integrated radar satellite constellation by 2027, alongside the development of over 15 new AI-powered products catering to various global sectors.
In a celebration of the UAE’s cultural heritage, the Explorers of Space platform features a handcrafted rocket sculpture made entirely from khoos (palm fronds). Created by Emirati women artisans from the House of Artisans over several months, the sculpture serves as a powerful symbol of how traditional craftsmanship can reflect and fuel a nation’s futuristic aspirations in space.
The UAE Pavilion at Expo 2025 Osaka-Kansai continues to position the country as a leader in blending innovation with identity, offering a bold vision of how space exploration can create real-world impact and inspire global collaboration.
