Abu Dhabi, The Gulf Observer: UAE Team Emirates showcased its dominance in the Individual Time Trial (ITT) at Al Hudayriyat Island, covering 12.1 km with precision.
Brandon McNulty secured the top spot with an impressive time of 13 minutes and 27 seconds, leading a remarkable team performance.
Teammates Jay Vine (+2 seconds) and Mikkel Bjerg (+4 seconds) secured the second and third positions, respectively, highlighting UAE Team Emirates’ formidable strength in the ITT discipline.
Adam Yates also delivered a commendable performance, securing the 16th position with a time difference of +28 seconds.
As the number 1 team in the world, UAE Team Emirates set a commanding precedent in their home race, leaving competitors behind with a blistering pace. The team’s strategic approach, scheduling the start of the three riders early in the day to leverage favorable course conditions, contributed to their triumphant performance in stage 2.
Brandon McNulty’s victory further solidified his reputation as one of the top Time-Trialists globally. The win adds to his impressive achievements in 2023, including securing his first Grand Tour stage victory, becoming the USA ITT National Champion, and finishing fourth in the ITT World Championships.
