UAE Team Emirates-XRG Clinches Stage 5 Team Time Trial at Vuelta a España

Figueres, The Gulf Observer: UAE Team Emirates-XRG delivered a commanding performance to secure victory in the Stage 5 Team Time Trial of the Vuelta a España, held in Figueres on Wednesday.

The Emirati squad covered the 24.1-kilometre course in 25 minutes and 26 seconds, averaging just under 57 kilometres per hour. Their blistering effort proved enough to edge Visma-Lease a Bike by eight seconds, clinching the stage win and further boosting the team’s dominance in the 2025 season.

With this triumph, UAE Team Emirates-XRG achieved their 74th victory of the year, underlining their consistency and strength across multiple disciplines.

The result also significantly reshaped the general classification standings. Team riders Juan Ayuso, João Almeida, and Marc Soler advanced to second, third, and fourth place overall respectively, positioning UAE Team Emirates-XRG just eight seconds behind current race leader Jonas Vingegaard of Denmark.
