UAE to Participate as Special Partner Country in China-ASEAN Expo CAEXPO
Abu Dhabi, The Gulf Observer: The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has confirmed its participation as a Special Partner Country in this year’s China-ASEAN Expo (CAEXPO), marking a significant milestone as the first Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) member to hold this role at the expo, announced the CAEXPO Secretariat on Sunday.
Liang Yiguang, the deputy secretary-general of the CAEXPO Secretariat, disclosed that a delegation from the UAE will attend the 21st CAEXPO, slated to take place in Nanning, the capital of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region in southern China, from September 24 to 28. Additionally, the UAE will establish its dedicated national pavilion at the expo.
The decision to feature the UAE as a Special Partner Country at CAEXPO 2024 comes during the 40th anniversary year of diplomatic relations between China and the UAE. Over the past four decades, these two nations have fostered extensive and substantive exchanges and collaborations across various sectors.
Guangxi, which serves as the permanent venue for CAEXPO, holds strategic importance as a pivotal gateway for China’s regional engagement and its partnership with the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) countries. It stands as a critical nexus along the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor, facilitating trade and connectivity across the region.
The participation of the UAE as a Special Partner Country underscores the deepening economic and diplomatic ties between China and the Gulf region, heralding new avenues for bilateral cooperation and exchange within the dynamic framework of the CAEXPO platform.
