UAE to Resume Work Visas for Pakistani Nationals

Islamabad, The Gulf Observer: United Arab Emirates Ambassador to Pakistan, Salem Mohmmed Al Zaabi, has announced that the UAE will soon resume the issuance of work visas for Pakistani nationals, confirming that all required preparations are currently in progress.

The ambassador made the announcement during a meeting with a delegation of the Pakistan Overseas Employment Promoters Association (POEPA), led by Chairman Syed Rehmat Ali Shah, at the UAE Embassy in Islamabad. The delegation comprised POEPA Secretary General Mumtaz Siddique, former Chairman Syed Habib Ali Shah, Chairman’s Special Assistant Shakeel Abbasi, and Executive Member Tariq Javed.

Welcoming the delegation, Ambassador Al Zaabi underscored the longstanding, historic, and brotherly relations between Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates, stating that bilateral cooperation continues to expand across diverse sectors. He emphasized that the provision of skilled manpower remains a cornerstone of the strong partnership between the two countries.

Commending the Pakistani workforce, the ambassador acknowledged its professionalism, technical expertise, and dedication, noting that Pakistani workers have made significant contributions to the UAE’s development and infrastructure. He remarked that their consistent performance and work ethic have played an important role in supporting the UAE’s economic growth.

Ambassador Al Zaabi further stated that formal groundwork is underway to facilitate the restoration of work visa issuance for Pakistani citizens, expressing optimism that tangible progress will be achieved in the near future. He added that the move is expected to generate substantial employment opportunities for Pakistani workers while further strengthening bilateral economic ties.

Speaking on the occasion, POEPA Chairman Syed Rehmat Ali Shah lauded the UAE ambassador’s diplomatic efforts and reaffirmed the depth and durability of Pakistan–UAE relations. He highlighted the pivotal role of skilled Pakistani manpower in the United Arab Emirates’ continued development and expressed confidence that the resumption of work visas would enhance economic cooperation and create new overseas employment opportunities for Pakistani youth.
