UAE, US Hold High-Level Call on Regional Crises and Strategic Cooperation

Abu Dhabi, The Gulf Observer: His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, held a telephone conversation with His Excellency Marco Rubio, U.S. Secretary of State, to discuss urgent regional developments and review the strategic relations between the United Arab Emirates and the United States.
During the call, His Highness and Secretary Rubio exchanged views on the escalating humanitarian crisis resulting from the ongoing civil war in Sudan. Both sides reaffirmed the urgent need for an immediate and unconditional ceasefire and emphasized the importance of ensuring unhindered humanitarian access to civilians affected by the conflict.
His Highness welcomed recent statements by U.S. President Donald Trump calling for an end to the atrocities committed against civilians during the more than two-year-long war. He also commended President Trump’s leadership and efforts aimed at restoring stability and supporting a sustainable resolution to the crisis in Sudan.
The discussion also covered developments in the Gaza Strip and matters related to the ‘Board of Peace’, particularly following the adoption of UN Security Council Resolution 2803, drafted by the United States. His Highness underscored the significance of advancing efforts to support President Trump’s comprehensive plan for ending the conflict in Gaza and achieving long-term security, stability, and prosperity for the region’s people.
In addition, the two officials reviewed the strategic partnership between the UAE and the U.S., exploring avenues to further strengthen cooperation across various sectors. His Highness emphasized that he initiated the call to express his gratitude to President Trump for the recent White House decision authorizing the export of advanced AI semiconductors to G42. He noted that this pivotal step demonstrates the depth of the UAE–U.S. strategic partnership and reflects the continued growth and development of bilateral relations in key fields.
The conversation reaffirmed the mutual commitment of both nations to enhancing coordination on regional issues and advancing shared strategic objectives.
