UBTIC starts in London

London, The Gulf Observer: The 27th meeting of the Uzbek-British Trade and Industry Council (UBTIC) has started today in London.

The Deputy Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade of Uzbekistan Badriddin Obidov and the Ambassador of Uzbekistan Ravshan Usmanov opened the meeting.

The meeting is co-chaired on behalf of the British side by Parliamentary Under Secretary of State and Minister for Exports Malcolm Offord.

The forum is attended by officials, companies, and business representatives of the two countries, as well as over 100 British companies and organizations.

UBTIC hosts panel sessions on the following topics and issues:

  • Financial sector: latest events in the financial market of Uzbekistan and financial services in the UK;
  • Education: latest developments and cooperation between education institutions. Strategies for using cooperation opportunities and mutual growth potential in transnational education;
  • Export of Uzbekistan: textiles and products;
  • Initial public offerings and bonds;
  • Transport and civil infrastructure;
  • Digital technologies, business process outsourcing, and fintech.

Several mutually beneficial documents are expected to be signed during the two-day event.

On November 29, UBTIC will continue its work.
