Ukraine and UK Sign 2026 Defense Cooperation Roadmap under Century-Long Partnership

Ukraine

Baku, The Gulf Observer: Ukraine and the United Kingdom have formalized their defense cooperation for 2026 by signing a roadmap in Kyiv under their One Hundred Year Partnership Agreement, Anadolu Agency reported, citing Ukrainian Defense Minister Denys Shmyhal.

The agreement was signed by Minister Shmyhal and UK Secretary of State for Defence John Healey, covering key areas of security and marking “an important step toward implementing large-scale projects” facilitated by the long-term partnership between the two nations, Shmyhal said.

During the visit, Ukrainian officials, alongside representatives from the intelligence community and the General Staff, briefed Healey on the consequences of Russia’s recent overnight combined strike. They emphasized that strengthening air defense capabilities and ensuring sufficient ammunition supplies remain top priorities.

Shmyhal expressed gratitude to Healey for his visit and noted that the roadmap is intended to translate political commitments into practical cooperation, particularly in defense planning and capability development.
