Doha, The Gulf Observer: In a significant development aimed at enhancing international humanitarian efforts, the United Nations and Qatar have signed the first supplementary agreement to establish the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (UNOCHA) in Qatar. This agreement marks a pivotal step in strengthening cooperation between the United Nations and Qatar in addressing global humanitarian challenges.

The agreement was formally signed by Her Excellency Sheikha Hanouf bint Abdulrahman Al Thani, Director of the Department of International Organisations at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Qatar. Representing the United Nations, Dr. Ahmed Marii, the Representative of UNOCHA in Qatar, signed the agreement on behalf of the organization.
