Baku, The Gulf Observer: UN Secretary-General António Guterres has expressed his deep sadness and extended condolences following the deadly crash of an Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL) passenger plane in western Kazakhstan.

In a statement issued by Stéphanie Tremblay, associate spokesperson for the UN chief, Guterres conveyed his sympathy to the families of the victims and the affected nations. “The Secretary-General is deeply saddened by the news of a plane crash in western Kazakhstan, which has claimed the lives of many, including citizens of Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, and the Russian Federation,” Tremblay said, quoting Guterres.

The UN Secretary-General also expressed his heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims and offered his profound sympathy to the countries involved. Additionally, Guterres wished a swift and full recovery to those injured in the tragic incident.
