Uzbek and Indonesian Lawmakers Discuss Strengthening Inter-Parliamentary Cooperation

Tashkent, The Gulf Observer: Chairman of the Committee of the Legislative Chamber for Defense and Security Issues Erkin Salikhov, along with other deputies, held a meeting with a delegation led by Putu Supadma Rudana, Vice Chair of the Indonesian House of Representatives’ Inter-Parliamentary Cooperation Committee. The meeting aimed to further strengthen ties between Uzbekistan and Indonesia, with a focus on deepening inter-parliamentary cooperation, NHC reports.

The Uzbek delegation provided the visitors with insights into the large-scale reforms being implemented across the country, particularly highlighting efforts to put the norms of Uzbekistan’s renewed Constitution into practice. They also elaborated on the key functions of the Legislative Chamber, its various factions, and committees in the ongoing reform process.

Putu Supadma Rudana praised Uzbekistan’s recent progress and acknowledged the international community’s recognition of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev’s balanced, open, and constructive foreign policy. He stressed that the further expansion and strengthening of inter-parliamentary cooperation is a crucial factor in fostering bilateral relations, noting that increased dialogue in this area will benefit both nations.

During the discussions, the delegations positively assessed the intensification of political and economic dialogue between Uzbekistan and Indonesia. Key topics included strengthening cooperation in investment and trade, as well as expanding cultural and humanitarian exchanges between the two countries.

The meeting, conducted in a spirit of openness and constructive dialogue, also explored opportunities for enhancing inter-parliamentary cooperation at multiple levels. The development of tourism potential between the two nations and ways to enrich this collaboration with new content were key points of discussion.

Both sides expressed optimism about the future of Uzbek-Indonesian relations, with an emphasis on cooperation that promises mutual benefits in various sectors.
