Uzbek Jewellery Fair 2023 kicks off in Tashkent

Tashkent, The Gulf Observer: The Uzbek Jewellery Fair 2023 has opened at the Palace of Youth Creativity in Tashkent.
At the solemn event organized on this occasion, the Deputy Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan Khurram Teshabayev, and the Chairman of the Uzbekzargarsanoati Association Davron Samatov noted that Uzbekistan had become the leader of the jewelry industry among the states of Central Asia and that the international exhibition-fair that began today is a practical embodiment of extensive work in this direction.

At the fair, jewelry companies from more than 20 countries present their brands of gold, and silver jewelry, products with precious and semi-precious stones.

According to Shokhrukh Tuychiboyev, First Deputy Chairman of the Uzbekzargarsanoati Association, jewelry has a special place in the business world, and this direction, which emerged as a result of the merger of art and production, is developing every day. The jewelry art of Uzbekistan is distinguished by its uniqueness and originality, its history dating back centuries.

“This event is the first exhibition in the field held internationally. Representatives of such countries as Türkiye, Italy, Georgia, Azerbaijan, UAE, and Kyrgyzstan are participating in it along with local specialists. To date, more than 104 enterprises with the status of legal entities and 333 individual entrepreneurs are operating in this area in our country. They have developed local brands and showcase their capabilities widely. Our goal is to increase the prestige of this international event in Uzbekistan and Central Asia, to establish cooperation between manufacturers, and create a large platform for dialogue for them. It is known that Uzbekistan ranks fourth in the world in terms of gold reserves. Therefore, it is important to develop the industry further and achieve high results in cooperation with domestic producers and foreign investors”, Mr. Tuychiboyev said.

While getting acquainted with the exhibition, we talked with its participants. One demonstrates the jewelry art of Uzbekistan, another – Iran, and the third – Dubai, but they all have a common goal – to establish cooperation, keep abreast of innovations in the industry, and promote their brand in the world market.

Javlon Shorasulov, a private entrepreneur from Tashkent, presents the “Nodira Gold” brand at the exhibition.

“We have recently become members of the Uzbekzargarsanoati Association, although we have been producing jewelry under the “Nodira Gold” trademark for ten years. The purpose of our participation in the exhibition is to find new partners and enter the world market”, Mr. Shorasulov said.

As part of the international event program, B2B meetings will be organized that will contribute to the establishment of cooperation between domestic and foreign companies. Also, within the framework of the exhibition, the “Charming East” competition will be organized, in which an international jury will evaluate the developments of talented jewelers in various fields. The winners of the competition will be awarded the Uzbek Jewellery Awards.
