The President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, and the President of the People’s Republic of China, Xi Jinping, have solidified the all-weather comprehensive strategic partnership between their nations by signing a Joint Statement. The leaders expressed their shared commitment to enhancing mutually beneficial cooperation across various domains.

In a significant display of bilateral collaboration, the following key agreements were signed in the presence of President Mirziyoyev and President Xi Jinping:

  1. Agreement on Cooperation in Environmental Protection: This agreement between the Governments of Uzbekistan and China emphasizes joint efforts to address environmental challenges and promote sustainable practices.

  5. Agreement on Teaching Chinese: Facilitating language education, this agreement involves cooperation between the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Innovation of Uzbekistan and the Ministry of Education of China.
  6. Protocol on Phytosanitary Requirements and Control for Export of Peas: Ensuring the quality and safety of exported peas from Uzbekistan to China, this protocol is a crucial step in promoting agricultural trade.
  7. Protocol on Cooperation on China – Central Asia – Europe Express Trains: The Ministry of Transport of Uzbekistan and the National Development and Reform Commission of China aim to deepen collaboration on express train routes connecting China, Central Asia, and Europe.
  8. Protocol on Development of Cooperation in New Electric Vehicles: The Ministry of Economy and Finance of Uzbekistan and the Ministry of Commerce of China have laid the groundwork for collaboration in the development of new electric vehicles.
  9. Protocol on Cooperation in Poverty Reduction: The Ministry of Poverty Reduction and Employment of Uzbekistan and the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs of China have pledged joint efforts in poverty reduction initiatives.

  12. Agreement on Joint Construction of the “Air Silk Road”: The Ministry of Transport of Uzbekistan and the Civil Aviation Administration of China will jointly construct the “Air Silk Road,” enhancing air connectivity between the two nations.
  13. Plan of Cooperation in Tourism (2024-2026): The Tourism Committee under the Ministry of Ecology, Environmental Protection, and Climate Change of Uzbekistan and the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of China have outlined a plan for cooperative efforts in tourism over the next three years.
  14. Agreements on Establishment of Partnerships: Partnerships have been established between Tashkent region and Shaanxi province, as well as between the cities of Samarkand and Qingdao, among others.
