Uzbekistan and China Strengthen Strategic Partnership in Bilateral Meeting

Astana, The Gulf Observer: On May 20, Uzbekistan Minister of Foreign Affairs, Bakhtiyor Saidov, met with Wang Yi, Member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Minister of Foreign Affairs of China, according to media reports. The meeting was described as highly productive by Minister Saidov on his Telegram channel.

“Had a productive meeting with H.E. Wang Yi, the Member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Minister of Foreign Affairs of China, today in Astana,” wrote Saidov. “The high dynamics of our industrial, investment, intellectual, cultural, and interregional contacts are aimed at bringing the best outcomes to the people of Uzbekistan and China. Discussed the further strengthening of friendship and the all-weather comprehensive strategic partnership between our two nations with an emphasis on the comprehensive implementation of the agreements reached at the highest level. We also discussed the acute topics on regional and global agenda.”

This bilateral meeting underscores the commitment of both countries to enhance their strategic partnership and collaborate on various fronts. The discussions focused on implementing high-level agreements and addressing key regional and global issues.

The delegation from Uzbekistan, led by Foreign Minister Bakhtiyor Saidov, is in Astana from May 20-21. The visit includes participation in the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) meeting and bilateral negotiations, further solidifying Uzbekistan’s active role in regional cooperation and international diplomacy.
