Uzbekistan and France Hold Fifteenth Round of Political Consultations
Tashkent, The Gulf Observer: The fifteenth round of political consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan and France took place yesterday, according to media reports. The delegations were led by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Muzaffar Madrakhimov and Head of the Department for Continental Europe of the Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs of France Brice Roquefeuil, as reported by the Uzbekistan MFA.
During the meeting, the parties reviewed the current state of Uzbekistan-French relations and explored prospects for further development. Significant attention was given to implementing agreements reached during high-level visits between the two countries in 2022-2023. The discussions also focused on expanding the legal framework for bilateral cooperation.
Key topics of discussion included the deepening of inter-parliamentary relations, enhancing trade, economic, and investment cooperation, and promoting cultural and people-to-people exchanges. Both sides also emphasized the importance of strengthening ties between think tanks in Uzbekistan and France.
The consultations highlighted a mutual interest in intensifying economic diplomacy and implementing joint projects in various sectors such as energy, transport, water supply, tourism, construction, and renewable energy sources.
Additionally, the parties exchanged views on international and regional issues and discussed the schedule and agenda of upcoming joint events at various levels.
The meeting underscored the commitment of both Uzbekistan and France to fostering a robust and multifaceted partnership, building on the progress made in recent years.
