Uzbekistan and Germany Strengthen Collaboration in Criminology

Lower Saxony, The Gulf Observer: A delegation from the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan embarked on a significant visit to the Criminological Research Institute of Lower Saxony in the Federal Republic of Germany, marking a pivotal step towards enhancing bilateral cooperation in the field of criminology.

During the productive discussions, both parties reached an agreement on various collaborative initiatives aimed at fostering mutual exchange and advancing scientific research in criminology. Key highlights of the agreement include:

  • Mutual exchange of scientific publications stemming from criminological research findings.
  • Establishment of an international scientific and practical journal titled “Criminology.”
  • Organization of a joint international forum to facilitate scholarly discourse and exchange of ideas.
  • Collaboration on scientific and practical research projects to address contemporary challenges in criminology.

Additionally, the delegation and the host institute deliberated on the possibility of facilitating staff exchanges under the “Staff Mobility” program, enabling personnel from the Research Institute of Criminology of the Republic of Uzbekistan to undertake scientific exchanges in Germany.

The visit also laid the groundwork for collaboration with esteemed German institutions, including the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research, the German Society for International Cooperation, the German Academic Exchange Service, and the German Research Foundation.

In a significant outcome of the visit, both parties agreed to develop a Memorandum of Cooperation between the Research Institute of Criminology of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Criminological Research Institute of Lower Saxony, cementing their commitment to sustained collaboration and knowledge sharing.

The delegation’s visit underscores Uzbekistan’s dedication to fostering international partnerships and leveraging expertise from renowned institutions to enhance its capabilities in criminological research and law enforcement.
