Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan Strengthen Bilateral and Multilateral Cooperation

Tashkent, The Gulf Observer: Ambassador of Uzbekistan Bakhtiyor Ibragimov met with the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan, Alibek Bakayev, to discuss pressing issues of bilateral and multilateral cooperation, according to media reports. Both officials highly commended the steady development of political, trade-economic, and cultural-humanitarian ties between the two neighboring nations.

During the meeting, the two sides exchanged views on key matters of international and regional significance. Discussions primarily focused on enhancing coordination and advancing mutual interests within major multilateral platforms, including the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), the Organization of Turkic States (OTS), the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO), the Conference on Interaction and Confidence-Building Measures in Asia (CICA), and the “Central Asia Plus” formats.

The talks also underscored the commitment of Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan to further strengthen their strategic partnership through collaborative projects. As previously reported, both countries are set to implement 34 joint projects worth USD 4.5 billion, reinforcing economic cooperation and fostering regional stability.

This meeting reflects the growing diplomatic engagement between Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan, signaling their shared vision for sustainable regional development and deeper multilateral collaboration.
