Uzbekistan and Pakistan Strengthen Green Partnership in High-Level Meeting on Climate Cooperation

Islamabad, The Gulf Observer: His Excellency Alisher Tukhtaev, Ambassador of the Republic of Uzbekistan to Pakistan, held a warm and constructive meeting today with Federal Minister for Climate Change and Environmental Protection, the Honorable Musadik Masood Malik, to discuss deepening bilateral cooperation on key environmental and sustainability issues.

In their in-depth dialogue, both sides exchanged views on some of the most pressing global challenges, including climate change, renewable energy development, water resource management, environmental restoration, and sustainable growth.

Ambassador Tukhtaev outlined Uzbekistan’s ongoing environmental reforms and highlighted the country’s strong commitment to sustainability through the systemic introduction of renewable energy and bold climate policies. He also shared outcomes from the recent Samarkand Climate Forum, where Uzbekistan’s proactive stance on climate action received international recognition.

The Pakistani minister welcomed Uzbekistan’s initiatives and expressed keen interest in expanding cooperation. Areas of proposed collaboration include:

  • Establishing “sister university” partnerships in climate and energy disciplines,
  • Launching joint green initiatives under the “Green Space” and “Expanded Green Pakistan” programs,
  • Enhancing public awareness campaigns and environmental collaboration.

The meeting concluded with a mutual commitment to practical cooperation and joint projects that advance the shared environmental goals of both countries.

Together, Uzbekistan and Pakistan reaffirmed their shared vision for a greener, safer, and more sustainable planet.
