Uzbekistan and Russia Discuss Expanding Cooperation in Education and Regional Ties

Tashkent, The Gulf Observer: On November 1, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev of the Republic of Uzbekistan received a Russian delegation led by Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko. The delegation, which included Russian Ministers Alexei Chekunkov and Sergei Kravtsov, engaged in discussions with Uzbek counterparts on advancing the multifaceted partnership between Uzbekistan and Russia, building upon the agreements reached at the highest level.

Dmitry Chernyshenko conveyed greetings to President Mirziyoyev on behalf of Russian President Vladimir Putin and Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin. During the meeting, both sides emphasized the significance of strengthening educational and humanitarian cooperation, including the expansion of Russian university branches in Uzbekistan and the training of highly qualified teaching personnel.

The leaders underscored the importance of adopting a joint roadmap to foster practical partnerships between Uzbek regions and Russia’s Far Eastern regions. They also highlighted shared interests in boosting tourism between the two countries, as well as in organizing joint cultural and sporting events to enhance people-to-people ties and mutual understanding.
