Uzbekistan and the United States Strengthen Strategic Partnership Through Presidential Dialogue

Tashkent, The Gulf Observer: President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a telephone conversation with President of the United States of America Donald Trump, reinforcing the growing strategic partnership between the two nations.

At the outset of the conversation, President Mirziyoyev extended his congratulations to President Trump on the upcoming New Year holidays, wishing the American people peace, prosperity, and well-being. In response, President Trump conveyed warm greetings and best wishes to the Leader and people of Uzbekistan, expressing hopes for continued happiness, success, and new achievements in the New Year.

During the dialogue, both leaders discussed the implementation of agreements reached at the highest level and explored further prospects for strengthening the strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and the United States. President Mirziyoyev praised President Trump’s accomplishments in domestic and foreign policy over the past year, highlighting his efforts in addressing urgent international crises and conflicts.

The leaders noted with satisfaction the increasing intensity of bilateral political contacts and exchanges, particularly at the leadership level, marking a new phase in the development of U.S.-Uzbek relations and enhancing the practical substance of the strategic partnership.

Ongoing joint projects across various sectors—including civil aviation, the automotive industry, mining, agriculture, infrastructure, energy, chemistry, and information and communication technologies—are valued at tens of billions of dollars. To facilitate further cooperation, the U.S.-Uzbekistan Business and Investment Council has been established, with active work underway to create a joint investment fund.

A new mechanism for regional interaction has also been launched, with delegations from three Uzbek regions having already visited the United States to foster cooperation with American states. The leaders paid particular attention to international and regional issues, emphasizing the importance of multilateral cooperation, including the C5+1 format.

Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining active contacts at the highest level and agreed to advance joint initiatives and practical cooperation programs. President Mirziyoyev extended an invitation to President Trump to visit Uzbekistan at a convenient time.
