Uzbekistan Captivates UK Tourists at “Destinations: The Holiday and Travel Show”
London, The Gulf Observer: The Embassy of Uzbekistan in the UK has been actively engaging in the prestigious international tourism fair, “Destinations: The Holiday and Travel Show,” held at the Olympia exhibition hall from February 1-4. The event has proven to be a resounding success, showcasing Uzbekistan as an enticing and culturally rich destination for British travelers.
On the inaugural day of the fair, the esteemed British travel company, Wild Frontiers, hosted a special presentation accentuating the alluring tourist destinations offered by Uzbekistan. A significant milestone was achieved as an agreement was reached to welcome 500 British tourists to Uzbekistan in the year 2024.
Uzbekistan’s presence was prominently featured at the stands of influential UK travel companies, including “Cox and Kings,” “Regent,” “Mountain Kingdoms,” “Titan,” “Travel the Unknown,” and others. George Colvin, Chief Executive of “Cox and Kings,” shared his enthusiasm for Uzbekistan, expressing plans to bring over 1,500 tourists to the country in the current year. He praised Uzbekistan’s beauty, modern developments, ancient Silk Road history, and outstanding accommodation services.
The fair also witnessed a special presentation organized by the renowned publishing house Bradt Travel Guides, unveiling guidebooks dedicated to Karakalpakstan and Uzbekistan as a whole. This initiative further enriched the understanding of the diverse and unique travel experiences awaiting those venturing into Uzbekistan.
Johnny Bilby, a representative of the leading British travel company “Wild Frontiers,” expressed the company’s enduring interest in Uzbekistan and outlined plans to double the number of UK tourists visiting the country in the current year. The growing popularity of Uzbekistan among British travelers was emphasized by both George Colvin and Johnny Bilby, attesting to the nation’s increasing appeal.

Uzbekistan’s active participation and the positive reception from British travel industry leaders mark a significant milestone in fostering tourism ties between the two nations, promising a year of heightened cultural exchange and exploration.
