Uzbekistan, China agree to develop cooperation in agricultural sector

Tashkent, The Gulf Observer: A meeting with a Xinjiang Autonomous Region (PRC) delegation was held at the Council of Farmers, Dehkan Farms and Owners of Household Lands of Uzbekistan.
It was noted that there are opportunities for enhancing multilateral cooperation in various sectors of agriculture, in particular, the cultivation of legumes, nuts, and medicinal plants and the establishment of drip irrigation systems on desert and saline lands.
The issues of meat and dairy production and creating greenhouses using alternative energy were also widely discussed.
Following the meeting, the parties agreed to establish new ways of cooperation in the agricultural sector and strengthen existing agreements within the framework of the Belt and Road project in the Hotan region of China. It was noted that developing export-import cooperation between Uzbekistan and China is essential for the further improvement of business relations.
