Uzbekistan, China sign MoU to construct solar power plants
Tashkent, The Gulf Observer: JSC National Electric Grid of Uzbekistan and the Energy China Overseas Investment Division China Gezhouba Group Overseas Investment Co., Ltd. have signed contracts for the construction of solar photovoltaic power plants with a capacity of 500 MW each in Kashkadarya and Bukhara regions.
According to the JSC National Electric Grid of Uzbekistan, these two major projects will additionally generate 2.3 million kilowatt-hours of electricity. It will also be possible to reduce the consumption of natural gas by 588 million cubic meters per year. As a result, fuel resources will be saved and the amount of harmful emissions into the atmosphere will be reduced.
At the signing ceremony of the documents, which took place at the JSC National Electric Grid of Uzbekistan, the parties once again discussed the joint activities to be carried out in this direction.
