Uzbekistan Outsourcing Conference Shines in New York Spotlight
New York, The Gulf Observer: In a significant initiative to foster collaboration and showcase the burgeoning opportunities in the realm of information technology, the Ministry of Digital Technologies and IT Park of Uzbekistan successfully organized the Uzbekistan Outsourcing Conference in New York. The event, graced by a high-level delegation from Uzbekistan led by Minister of Digital Technologies, Sherzod Shermatov, attracted the participation of key players in the American IT sector and representatives from leading global businesses.
The primary objective of the conference was to acquaint American IT specialists and international business representatives with the conducive environment that Uzbekistan has established for the development of information technology.
A major highlight of the conference was the announcement of the creation of the International Center for Digital Technologies at IT Park in Uzbekistan. Set to become operational from June 1, 2024, the center will operate under a special legal regime for the next five years.
As part of an innovative experiment, a “regulatory sandbox” will be implemented within the center’s premises to facilitate the development and testing of innovations, services, and business products in the digital technology domain.
The special legal regime within the Center will cover several critical areas, including:
- Customs and taxation
- Labor relations
- Financial and banking activities
- Processing and protection of personal data
- Provision of public services
- Intellectual property protection
- Consideration of commercial and civil disputes
Discussions during the conference centered on Uzbekistan’s supportive business environment, the untapped potential of its youth, and the promising prospects of the International Center for Digital Technologies.
In a bid to further engage business leaders, the event extended an invitation to executives to participate in the upcoming “Outsourcing Tour” event scheduled to take place in Tashkent and Samarkand in March this year. This tour aims to provide firsthand insights into the dynamic business landscape and investment opportunities that Uzbekistan has to offer.
The Uzbekistan Outsourcing Conference marked a pivotal moment in the country’s efforts to position itself as a key player in the global digital landscape, fostering collaboration, innovation, and international partnerships in the field of information technology.
