Uzbekistan Promotes Youth Sports and Health Initiatives at International Roundtable

Tashkent, The Gulf Observer: As part of International Partnership Initiatives Week, an international roundtable discussion titled “A Perfect and Healthy Generation – the Foundation of the Future of the New Uzbekistan” was held, focusing on engaging young people in sports, discussing strategies to promote a healthy lifestyle, and showcasing Uzbekistan’s reforms in these areas to the global community.
Adham Ikramov, Minister of Youth Policy and Sports of the Republic of Uzbekistan, emphasized the significant progress made in the field. “To radically reform the field, attract young people to mass sports, and improve public health, over the past few years, more than 50 decrees and resolutions of the President of Uzbekistan have been adopted, and the implementation of these documents has been ensured,” Mr. Ikramov noted. He also highlighted the achievements of Uzbekistan’s young athletes, stating, “In the past and current years, our young athletes have won 357 gold, 252 silver, and 491 bronze medals at prestigious world competitions.”
Foreign speakers at the event praised the comprehensive system Uzbekistan has developed to promote physical education and guide talented youth toward professional sports. In a key announcement, it was revealed that Tashkent will host the Third Asian and Fifth Asian Youth Para Games in 2025, further solidifying the nation’s commitment to youth development and sports excellence.
